Anil Ambani’s Reliance Power limited is facing major hurdles setbacks as the solar energy corporation of India (SECI) has imposed a three – year roadblock on the company and subsidiary Reliance NU BESS Ltd. After SECI found that it had submitted fake guarantee documents, during bidding process for the 1 GW/2 GWh standalone battery energy storage system project.
When did the incident happened?
The controversy arose when SECI floated a bit to set up a large scale battery energy storage system. When Reliance NU BESS Ltd. , a subsidiary of Reliance Power was found to have submitted fake bank guarantee on the statement requirement. SECI cancelled the entire bidding process for violating the submission rule.

For Reliance Power which is trying to restructure and revive its operations amid economic turmoil, the band represents a significant setback. However, this reputational blow will only be overcome with strong corrective measures and governance practices.
